String Set Value
Set a string variable directly.
Parameters
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| String | The target string variable to set. |
| Value | The text to assign to the variable. |
| Use Variable Tokens | Resolves tokens like {Health} or {PlayerName} before storing the result. |
What It Does
String Set Value writes text into a string variable.
Its most useful feature is Use Variable Tokens, which lets you insert values from FSM variables directly into the text. That makes it handy for dynamic labels, debug output, and dialogue snippets without needing a separate format step.
Example
Use String Set Value to build a debug line:
- Set
ValuetoHP: {Health} Score: {Score}. - Enable Use Variable Tokens.
- Store the result in a string variable shown in your UI or log output.
Notes
- Token replacement uses the current FSM variables.
- Use Format String if you prefer numbered placeholders over named variable tokens.
